As the centre of the so
called Makarska Riviera, Makarska has the widest variety of tourist
offerings, with its typical Dalmatian, shady, narrow streets that
flow into the large town square, lively Riva promenade along the
the sheltered harbour, attractive cafeterraces, restaurants and
music-barrooms, and a yacht harbour for free-time skippers. It is
characterised by cultivated olive groves, pine woods, famous pebble
beach, sandy coves, fig trees and vineyards.
